The programs goal is to connect generous hunters with food bank, soup kitchens and any other charitable organizations that feed hungry Michiganders. The program was founded by: Safari Club International, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, Ted Nugent United Sportsmen of America, Michigan Bow Hunters Associations, the United Methodist Men's Club, the Food Bank Council of Michigan, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Many other groups and individuals have since joined in this most worthy of causes.
A hunger who wants to donate venison or any other big game meat should take it to the nearest Sportsmen against Hunger drop off station for processing. Note: To comply with stat and federal game laws, do not divide the game before processing. If you keep some portion of the processed meat or animal, keep your kill tag with it.
Let the processor know how much meat you would like to donate and they'll set it aside for distribution to local charitable organizations. MSAH has established a voucher program with our processors in which MSAH will cover the processing fee for whole deer donated to the program. For more information and processors locations visit the MSAH website http://www.sportsmenagainsthunger.org/processor.htm or Contact them at 313-278-FOOD (3663)
